Requirements
Couples must be married for at least 2 years
Single women must hold dual citizenship in the US and Ghama. Must be under 50 years old.
Must be at least 25 years old and maximum age of 50 (must be at least 21 years older than child)
Prospective adoptive parents pursuing a relative adoption must be under 65 years old.

How long does it take to adopt from Ghana?
Adopting from Ghana can vary depending on a family’s timely submissions of paperwork, the government, and other important key factors.
What are the travel requirements?
- As CAS is the most experienced agency to complete international adoptions under the Hague Convention from Ghana. The majority of our families pursuing a non-relative adoption spend about 3.5 to 4 months in country with their child.
- Prepare to stay in country for at least 45 days in Ghana over the course of the adoption

It is recommended by Ghanaian officials to spend three months in Ghana over the course of the adoption

Families will be required to find care for their child after their mandatory 30-day bonding period is complete if they are unable to remain in country.
Can I adopt a relative from Ghana?
