We are a family of three: Mom, Dad, and our energetic toddler who keeps us laughing every single day. We met while in college studying engineering and quickly discovered that beyond our shared love of problem-solving, we shared the same values—kindness, curiosity, family, and adventure.
Our family is proudly interracial, and celebrating different cultures is an important part of who we are. We believe diversity makes life richer, and we want our children to grow up appreciating people from all backgrounds. In our home, traditions from both sides of our family are woven into everyday life through food, holidays, stories, music, and family gatherings.
As engineers, we naturally love learning and exploring how things work. Our home is often filled with building projects, puzzles, creative activities and also fun toys. We hope to encourage our children to ask questions, think independently, and pursue whatever passions make them happy.
Our toddler is a joyful little explorer who loves books, playground adventures, and dancing and singing to her favorite shows: Sesame Street, Ms. Rachel, Ms. Vale. Watching her become a big sibling would be one of life’s greatest gifts. We can already imagine what fun adventures they will have together, and years filled with shared laughter and friendship.
When we’re not working, you’ll usually find us pursuing our hobbies. Individually, Jason enjoys playing soccer, watching soccer and anything soccer related. Susan enjoys playing tennis, gardening, trying new recipes and baking. We enjoy traveling (local, regional, national and international trips), exploring the local greenways, going to sporting events, concerts, festivals and other events. We also love spending time with extended family and friends. We enjoy just hanging out in the backyard grilling, going to gatherings, playing board games, having playdates, etc. They are all very excited to welcome another child with open arms.
Our home is filled with love, stability, and support. Most importantly, it is filled with acceptance. We want every child in our family to know they are valued exactly as they are. We promise to nurture their unique personality, encourage their dreams, and provide opportunities to help them grow into a confident and compassionate person.
