This service is an opportunity for your family to welcome home a child who has experience foster care and now needs a forever family. These children may be in our local state or in other states. In this process you will choose your openness to match with children or youth who may start as foster placements or those who are legally free and transition as adoptive children.
Our Search and Match Service will connect with you to explore the best process to grow your family through Adoption from Foster Care. This process partners to prepare your family for the adoption journey and will support your matching preferences.
Families adopting from foster care will typically be matched with sibling groups and older youth. Your Search and Match Specialist will collaborate with your family to understand the children and youth who are a best match for your adoption journey.

Do I have to foster in order to adopt from foster care?
No. This program prepares families to adopt waiting children who are legally free to be adopted by caring families.
Once I have an approved home study, how long does it take to be matched with a child?
Typically, families are matched within six months during the search and match phase as they work with a CAS Specialist.
How old are the children waiting to be adopted in the US?
Children waiting to be adopted are 4 years old and up. To enter our Adoption from Foster Care Program, families must be open to adopting children up to 10 years of age (or older).
How much does it cost to adopt from foster care?
Adoption from foster care is one of the least expensive adoption programs. Usually, the whole process costs families less than $5,000.
What is the first step in the process?
